What is E Waste doing to the environment?

For decades without knowing the effects it could have on us and the environment many Dallas area people have been dumping toxic e waste in our landfills, leaching dangerous materials and metals such as lead, cadmium and mercury into the groundwater, surrounding soil, and ultimately ending up in our bodies. The health effects of such heavy metals in humans can be devastating, research shows tumors, kidney problems, mental health disorders and cancer are just some of the results.

What is E Waste and Why is it a problem?

E waste is derived from the term electronic waste. Including such items as computers, office electronic equipment, cell phones, and entertainment devices. A typical computer monitor contains at least 4 to 8 pounds of lead. That is a problem since when not properly handled and recycled can harm all existing life.
